Bookkeeper Trainee / Intern

Position Purpose

Indevaldi provide bookkeeping services to its clients. Indevaldi endeavour to provide high quality data readily available for various uses including reporting, decision making and finance applications. The bookkeeping team is integral to providing this service to our clients.

Position Summary

You are responsible for recording and maintaining day to day business financial transactions of our clients into general ledgers up to trail balance.

The ledgers and trail balance are used to produce management reports which include balance sheet, income statement, age receivable, age payable and stock reports.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

A description of the duties and responsibilities assigned to the position; also referred to as the essential functions:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process in accounting software.
  • Bring the books to the trail balance stage and ensure the trail balance accuracy.
  • Filing of electronic or hardcopy documents.
  • Assist in the creation of audit packs/ financial statement packs.
  • Various other ad hoc duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Matric with mid to high grades in mathematics and accounting.
    • Completed Certificate or Completed Diploma or Diploma with outstanding practical experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

    Experience:

    • None.

    Software:

    • Office product suite.
    • Accounting Software – Xero.
    • Document Management Software – Dext, other platforms.
    • Practice Management Software.
    • SARS systems.
    • Payroll software – SimplePay.
